2011 Derby

Congratulations to all our racers and their families! What a wonderful day! Smiles, laughs and excitement were had by all. What unforgettable memories!

Congratulations also to our elementary and secondary schools from Orléans and surrounding areas for their teams' participation in our event! What athletic spirit!

We would like to thank Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Orléans, Royal Galipeau; Member of Provincial Parliament for Ottawa-Orléans, Phil McNeely; the Mayor of the City of Ottawa, Jim Watson; and Ottawa City Councillors Rainer Bloess, Bob Monette, Stephen Blais and Mathieu Fleury for their participation as racers in our event. Calling all racers!

This is an open invitation for kids to compete in the 7th Annual Orléans Soap Box Derby being held all-day on June 9th, 2012. The race is open to all kids in the Ottawa and surrounding area who are between the ages of 7-107.

You can find detailed specifications for how to build your own SoapBox car along with links to purchase ready-to-assemble kit packages. Mom and Dad get your kids involved and have a blast.

On June 9th the Orléans Soapbox Derby is closing off a large section of Orléans Boulevard between St-Joseph and Jeanne D'Arc, and races will be held in heats by age group, with prizes for the winners in each category.

It's going to be a blast!

The Orléans Soap Box Derby is looking for volunteers to help make this years event the best ever.

We need help for all aspects of race-day.
